Villarrica is a city and commune in the southern part of Chile, in the province of Cautín, in the Araucanía Region.

Founded in the year 1552, by the Adelantado Gerónimo de Alderete, this locality has not maintained a historical continuity, due to the fact that it has been destroyed on several occasions due to the territorial conflicts between the State and the Mapuche People, it was refounded on two occasions, being the last one in 1883 and the definitive one. Villarrica, a city that has suffered from many obstacles in its history that bothered its political-administrative stability in Chile and due to the constant eruptions of the Volcano near the city, has also had constant growth that has made it one of the most important communes. of the area, for its offer of agricultural products, handicrafts and services such as what is offered from its population and its growing and alternative tourism.
